Donald B. McLeod, 87, of Cranston passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 15th at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Catanzaro) McLeod, to whom he had been married for 64 years.
Born in Providence, the son of the late John and Dorothy (Jackvony) McLeod, Donald had been a long-time resident of Cranston. He had a long and successful career in the banking industry, beginning as a bank teller at Citizens Bank, becoming a trust officer with several area banks and ultimately retiring from Bank of America as a Vice President. Donald was well respected by his clients and colleagues for his integrity and sound judgment. As a graduate of Providence College, Donald completed trust banking programs at Williams College. He also graduated from La Salle Academy, where he lettered in baseball, and served in the Army Reserves for six years.
A lifelong devoted Red Sox fan, Donald enjoyed weekends at Sand Hill Cove, vacationing at various seaside locations in the Carolinas, Florida and the Caribbean and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren as they grew up over the years.
Besides his wife, Donald leaves two loving sons, Dr. Brian and his wife, Julianne McLeod, of Foster and Kevin and his wife, Jenny McLeod, of New York, NY. He was the proud grandfather of Casey McLeod, Conner McLeod and Keegan McLeod with whom he left many fond memories of their time together.
