Carolyn Joan (née Szymanski) Nuth, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on February 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and creativity.
Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Eugene M. Nuth, Sr., with whom she shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage. She was a dedicated and loving mother to Kimberly Bell and her husband Dave, Lisa Ward and her husband Brian, and her late son, Michael Nuth. Her heart overflowed with love for her cherished grandchildren, David Bell III and his wife Mary, Dakota Nuth-Komestakes, and Brian Ward.
She was a dear sister to John Szymanski and his wife Jolene, Juanita "Rocky" Hopple and her husband John "Jack," and the late Rita Kanady and her husband Rick Smith. Carolyn also shared a special bond with her brother-in-law, Bob Nuth, and his wife Betty. She was a lifelong and dear friend to Patricia Smith and leaves behind numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carrie (née Muller) Szymanski, who instilled in her a love for family.
She found immense joy in teaching preschool and early childhood education, where she nurtured young minds with warmth, patience, and creativity. She delighted in exploring nature with children, encouraging their artistic expressions, and fostering a love of learning. Carolyn's curiosity for life was evident in everything she did-whether it was cooking, crafting, or expressing her love for music and dance. She never passed up an opportunity to sing and dance, especially when the jitterbug played. She had an eye for a great bargain, enjoyed shopping trips, and had a special fondness for Italian cold-cut sandwiches. Above all, she treasured her family and friends, embracing life with joy and laughter.
A memorial service to celebrate Carolyn's life will be held at Cathedral Mary Our Queen in the Lady Chapel on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association (www.als.org), an organization close to the family's heart.
Her absence leaves a profound void, but her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and support offered to them during this difficult time. Your kindness, comforting words, and heartfelt gestures have brought great comfort as they navigate this profound loss. Your presence, whether in thought, prayer, or action, has been a source of strength, and they are truly grateful for the love and compassion surrounding them.
