Carolyn O'Brien Obituary

Born in Jersey City, Carolyn was a longtime resident of Carteret and a friend to all who knew and loved her. She was a member of the Carteret BPO Elks 2235 and was a member of the Carteret Columbiettes. Carolyn was an avid New York Jets and Yankees fan, enjoyed playing bingo and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed.
Carolyn was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel and Thomas VanGlahn. Surviving are her husband of 13 years, George O'Brien; son, Albert Abatemarco and his wife Marissa; two step-sons, Sean and Shane O'Brien; granddaughter, Evangeline Abatemarco; step-grandchildren, Adrianna and Shane O'Brien, Jr.; siblings, John VanGlahn and his wife Darlene, Lisa Fargione and her husband Chuck, Mark VanGlahn and his wife Mary Cannan, Joseph VanGlahn and his wife Ayu and Paul VanGlahn along with her aunt, Marie Calegero.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from CHUBENKO FUNERAL HOME, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by a 10am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Carteret. Cremation will be private.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

Condolences to all of Carolyn´s family.
I knew Carolyn many years ago and Albert as a young boy. She was always full of life and had a great laugh!
So happy to see that she enjoyed her life as a mom, a wife and grandmother.
She was blessed for sure. She will live on in your beautiful memories of your life together.
