Carolyn Sue Paris of Macon, MO, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Macon Health Care Center in Macon.
Sue was born on August 16, 1946 in Bevier, MO, the daughter of Wayne Lear and Mary (Wells) Lear Jones. She was united in marriage to Walter Paris on August 13, 1966, in College Mound, MO. Sue worked for McGraw Edison and for 43 years at Samaritan Hospital, all in Macon. She loved music and traveled often with her husband to Branson, MO to attend country music concerts. Sue also loved attending her brother Bill's music shows and would go to several events where he played. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always up for a "girls" shopping trip with her Mexico cousins. Sue was an avid animal lover and cared for her many pets, as well as, any stray animal that managed to find her house.
Sue is survived by her husband Walter Paris; daughter, Stephanie Paris of Macon, MO; brother, Bill Lear and his wife Sandy of Macon, five siblings in Iowa, her special cousins in Mexico, MO, and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ruth Masten, and three Iowa siblings.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO, with Pastor Adam Steeves officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, north of Macon. Visitation will be 12:00 pm, Sunday, until the time of the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
