Age 79, of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, our beloved Carolyn Rebecca Simms Pressley transitioned peacefully to her eternal home in heaven on September 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Carolyn is survived and deeply missed by her husband of 44 years, John Pressley; her son, Robert J. Grinage II; daughter, Jaimee L. Grinage; and many grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, The late Rev. Obadiah L. Simms and Mary A. Simms.
Among the first women in the 1970's to work at the Homestead Steel Works, Carolyn proved that strength knows no gender and carried that passion for change throughout her life. A determined entrepreneur, she managed multiple businesses while raising her family. It wasn't until years later did she discover the hobby that started her love for dogs that grew into a lasting legacy in the Boxer breed, producing champions recognized worldwide and mentoring many who followed in her footsteps. Carolyn was grounded by her faith as a cherished member of Saint Paul Baptist church. Carolyn also shared her gift of music, transforming the choir into a source of joy and inspiration.
Though she has departed, her legacy endures through the lives she touched and the love she shared.
