Carolyn Fay Womack passed away Saturday, July 6th, 2024 in Porter, Texas at the age of 79.
Carol was born December 13th, 1944 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Harold Gus Merkel and Bessie Lorene (Hollinghead) Merkel. Carol graduated from Lamesa High School in Texas. Carol married Ronald Martin in Lamesa, Texas. They had 2 children Tawania and Shannon. Ronald passed away. Later, Carol married Johnny Womack in Center, Texas. She worked for American Greetings traveling as a customer representative for many years. Carol enjoyed reading and especially talking to her sister on the phone. She loved spending time with her family.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Bessie Merkel, first husband Ronald Martin and husband Johnny Womack. She is survived by her daughter Tawania Lott and husband Wade of Crosby, TX, son Shannon Womack and Susie Kimble of La Porte, TX, great granddaughter Charley Bradshaw of the home, grandchildren; Drew Bradshaw, Blake Womack, Dakota Womack, Lindsey Lott, Logan Lott, 6 great grandchildren, sister Pat Beck of Holdenville, OK, and brother Harold "Buddy" Merkel and wife Gloria of San Antonio. Carol was survived by numerous other family and friends. Carol will be laid to rest with Okie her beloved dog and champion of 14 years.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 19, 2024 at Holdenville Cemetery with Pastor Chip Lott officiating.
Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
