Carrie L. Cogar

Carrie L. Cogar, age 87, of Rock Creek passed away Sept. 9, 2024, at her home. Born July 11, 1937, in Braxton County. WV to George & Susan (nee: Snyder) Cogar, she had been a longtime resident of Madison before moving to Rock Creek two years ago. Carrie was a homemaker, raising her seven children. Survivors include her children Rose Clay of Conneaut, Rusty (Carl) Dixson of FL, Wilda Cogar of Madison, Wilma (Cletus) Turner of Rock Creek, Danver "Danny" (Sherrie) Cogar of Austinburg and Doyle (Jennifer) Cogar of Geneva; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister Vergie Gumm of Flatwoods, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Danver Cogar; daughter Charleen Clinger; siblings Vernie, Rhethie, Ann, Dessi, Loat, Orvil & Ballard along with a grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at the Potti & Marc F. Burr Funeral Homes of Madison with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Madison. The visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that there be no photography, videotaping or phone use during the visitation or funeral service.
