Carrie June "Junie' McHaley, 62, of North Vernon, passed away at 6:44 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Compassus Hospice Inpatient in Indianapolis.
Born August 15, 1962, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Janie Bartlett Burns and the late Gary L. McHaley.
Junie was a bookkeeper for Sister's Floral in North Vernon after returning to Indiana in 2002 from Florida where she lived for twenty years and worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed decorating, gardening, going to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Ashley (Stan) Ward of Crawfordville, Florida; her mother, Janie (Mitch) Burns of North Vernon; brothers, Gary (Charlanne) McHaley of Butlerville and Troy (Rebecca) McHaley of North Vernon; grandchildren, Seth Ward, Easton Ward, and Finley Ward, all of Crawfordville, Florida; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, sister, Deborah Bowling, nephew, William Lucas "Luke" Holman; and grandparents, Alberta and Glenn Bartlett.
A memorial service for Junie will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the New Freedom Baptist Church in North Vernon with the Rev. Richard Burcham officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made in honor of Junie through the funeral home to The Ward Children College Fund.
