Jack L. McHaley, 96, long-time resident of Hutchinson, died February 19, 2026, in Wichita at Oxford Vista. He was born January 13, 1930, in Reese, Kansas, to George and Marie (Hatheway) McHaley.

On December 13, 1950, he married the love of his life, Anita J. Cooper, in McPherson. They shared nearly 44 years of marriage before her death on July 14, 1994.

Jack was a music enthusiast who had a love for the steel guitar. He was a talented guitarist who performed with his brothers in the band "Country Four". Jack preferred country music and loved listening to Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, and George Jones. He enjoyed bowling and proudly bowled a perfect 300 in the 1990's. Jack was a die-hard St Louis Cardinals, KU basketball and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Jack is survived by his: children, Belenda Collins of Goddard and Jack McHaley Jr. of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Dustin (Michelle) Collins of Wichita, Tonya (Barry) Fletcher of Texas, and Christie England; great-grandchildren, Brandon Collins and Kacey Collins both of Wichita, Dylan Fletcher of Texas, and Chey England.

He was preceded in death by: beautiful wife, Anita McHaley; his parents, George and Marie; brothers, Myron, George Jr., and Charles McHaley; daughter-in-law, Sandy McHaley; granddaughter, Toni Lynn McHaley.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain Edward Peeples officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd, Hutchinson.

Since Jack was such a huge fan of KU basketball, St Louis Cardinals & KC Chiefs, please feel free to honor him by wearing any apparel.
