Carroll Brooks Alewine, Jr. 80, of Pomaria, died Saturday, April 6, 2024 at White Oak Manor.


Born on August 18, 1943 in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Carroll Brooks Alewine, Sr. and Ada Rebecca Dominick Alewine. He was a retired dairy farmer and  owned and operated Carroll Alewine Trucking for many years. He enjoyed farming and raised Black Angus cattle. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.


He is survived by his wife, Joanna Alewine; a son, Timothy (Jennifer) Alewine; a daughter, Tina Alewine both of Pomaria; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Alewine and Alyssa Alewine; a brother, Jerry W. (Janet) Alewine; stepchildren, Richard (Melissa) Colello, Jr. and Mary Ann (Scott) Brown; step-grandchildren, Owen Shimel, Gabriella Rose Gallina, and Francesca Rose Gallina.


Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Randy Drafts. The family will be at the home of Mr. Richard Colello, 486 Alewine Lane, Pomaria, and will receive friends at the church on Saturday following the service.


Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Pre-School, P.O. Box 186 , Little Mountain, SC 29075.


The family would like to thank Agape Care of South Carolina , the staff of White Oak Manor, and the Newberry County Memorial Hospital for their loving care.
