Grand Isle --- Carroll N. Deschaine, 75, passed into the loving arms of his late wife on September 26, 2025. He was born in Grand Isle on June 12, 1950, a son of the late Mack and Cecile (Thibodeau) Deschaine.

Carroll last worked at the former Kevlar in Van Buren for about 15 years, before his retirement in 2004. Previously he worked for various farms as well as construction on the former Loring Air Force Base. A proud United States Marine, he served in Vietnam, and upon his return, was a member of the American Legion, Madawaska. Carroll cherished his years with his wife and enjoyed tending to the yard. He also loved his best pal, his late dog Dixie.

Besides his parents, Carroll was predeceased by his beloved wife of 31 years, Joanne (Sirois) Deschaine, who passed in 2021, and several siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle, followed by burial in the parish cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. To share condolences online, please visit www.LajoieFuneralHome.com
