Carter Carr Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Frankfort on Dec. 2, 2024.
Carter Breckinridge (Breck) Carr was born on February 2, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Slade Leroy Carr and Gail Carter Hacker Carr. He died on November 28, 2024, at the age of 78 at his home in Frankfort, Kentucky.
He attended the University of Kentucky for both his Bachelor of Science and medical school degrees. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He was board-certified in Internal Medicine but he found that he loved emergency medicine more and practiced emergency medicine throughout Central Kentucky for 35 years.
Carter served as a Major in the Kentucky Army National Guard's Mash Unit located in Frankfort. He was also the proud recipient of the Kentucky Colonel honor. In his younger days, Carter enjoyed being a part of the Shriner's Oleika organization.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved golf, listening to chamber music and musicals, working on his "farm" felling trees and clearing land, playing Tetris, and telling puns and jokes. He was a lifelong learner and was interested in mythology, the classics, philosophy, poetry and science.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his older brother and best friend, Slade Leroy Carr, Jr., who was affectionately called "Biff" by family.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Judith Lynn Damon Carr, his three daughters, Laura Gail Carr, Barbara Kathleen (Kathy) Carr Hulbert (Tom), and Amanda Breckinridge Carr (Tony). He also leaves behind his beloved granddaughters Camille Esme Hulbert and Chloe Emerson Hulbert and Sister-in-law Melinda M. Carr.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home at from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Harrod Brothers Funeral Home located at 312 Washington St, Frankfort, KY 40601 on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, please plant your favorite tree. Carter's favorites were tulip poplars, white pines and black walnuts.
