Carter Delgene Claver, age 18, of Eddyville, Iowa, passed away at his home on July 3, 2024. He was born on June 7, 2006, in Pella, Iowa at 6:58 a.m., the son of Curtis Claver and Sharis Bahr-Claver. He attended Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School and recently graduated with the Class of 2024. He was a member of the FFA and the Special Olympics.
Carter loved camping, attending the Iowa State Fair and Southern Iowa Fair, the Iowa Hawkeyes, bowling and had a love for giraffes. He enjoyed watching his movies and his laugh was contagious. Carter loved his cheese puffs, Mountain Dew and Reeses and he never liked to share them. He had an ornery side to him and would then look at you with his big blue eyes and grin. Carter had a heart of gold. He was the most loving, happiest, and toughest boy that anyone could ever meet.
He is survived by his parents, Curtis Claver of Lovilia and Sharis Bahr-Claver of Eddyville; a sister, Maeleigh Claver of Eddyville; a brother, Garick Claver of Eddyville; his grandparents, David and Debra Bahr of Eddyville; Dennis Claver of Lovilia; and Lylaine and Kelly Ford of Knoxville; his aunts and uncles; Adam (Megan) Bahr; Jordan Bahr of Eddyville; Josh and Karry Bahr of St. Louis; Brooke and Zach Chambers of Chico, CA., and Lisa and Jake Keegel of Pleasantville. He is also survived by numerous cousins.
Carter is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal great grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School in Eddyville with pastor Leo Freel officiating. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont High School beginning at 4:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. with Carter's family present to greet relatives and friends.
