Survived by his wife, Charlotte Miller Carty, one son, Derek Carty of Lexington, Kentucky, one daughter, Julie and husband Paul Sexton of Lexington, Kentucky, one sister, Gwen Short of Knott County, Kentucky, two grandchildren, Shelby Sexton, and Lydia Sexton.
In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Carty, and one brother, Anthony Carty.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 12, 2026 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel with Craig Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Carty-Craft Cemetery at Carty Branch in Salyersville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M. and any time prior to funeral services.
