Cary Hoke Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. on May 6, 2025.
Cary Jo Hoke, 62, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and devoted partner, Megan. Born January 26, 1963, in Sunbury, PA, he was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sylvia, and his son, Shane.
Cary was the sixth of seven children born to William "Sammy" Hoke and Sylvia Hoke. He grew up in Freeburg, PA and graduated from Selinsgrove Area High School in 1983. Cary worked for many years at ICON Legacy Homes, where he was known for his dedication, craftsmanship and strong work ethic.
He was well known for his love of John Wayne and old Westerns. Cary was also a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. He was always ready and willing to help out whenever asked and was the best big brother/friend any little brother could have. He was a sensitive, caring, loving man and will be missed by so many.
Family was at the heart of Cary's life. He was a loving father, son, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and grand-uncle. He is survived by his father William (Sammy) Hoke, his siblings Sherry (Terry) Swab, Sue (Jack) Conner, Bill (Vicki) Hoke, Brian (Lori) Hoke, Chris, and Rodney (Casey) Hoke and his children, Kayla (Shyma), Dillon (Kierstin), Elijah, and Wyatt, and his cherished grandchildren: Ethan, Hailey, Kellyanne, Peyton, Karalee, Shane, Kollins and Scarlett. He also adored his three stepchildren: Drew, Macie and Dean. Cary also leaves behind a large extended family of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cousins who will fondly remember his warm smile and sense of humor.
Cary greatest joy was his large extended family and spending time with his closest friends. He shared many years of laughter and great times with his childhood friend, John Glover. He leaves a legacy of precious memories filled with his mischievous sense of humor, steady presence and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Cary's Life will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the Freeburg Volunteer Fire Company, 15 E. Market Street, Freeburg, PA 17827. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, PA is assisting the Hoke family. www.kleefuneralhome.com
