Casimir Sokolnicki Obituary
Casimir Joseph Sokolnicki entered his Heavenly home on March 6, 2025 at the age of 105. He was born December 20, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio to Teofil and Martha Sokolnicki.
Casimir grew up in Cleveland and graduated from East Technical High School in 1938. He entered the United States Army Air Corps on January 23, 1941, which later became the Air Force. Casimir proudly served his country for 21 years before retiring from the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant on October 1, 1962. He would then go on to dedicate 20 years of his life as a Radar Electronic Repair Technician with the Federal Aviation Administration. In total, Casimir's government service spanned 44 years. He married the love of his life, Lois Lorene Berry, on October 20, 1942. They were blessed with 68 years of a wonderful marriage prior to Lois' passing on October 29, 2010.
Casimir had a passion for traveling. He and Lois traveled together for many years and Casimir continued to find joy in it even after Lois' passing. Together they toured in their travel trailer around the US, even taking the grandchildren on multiple trips throughout their childhood. They also enjoyed Hawaii, Alaska and international travel. In addition, Casimir loved his family. They were the light of his life, and he enjoyed spending time with them. Casimir lived his life as a testament to his unwavering faith, setting a shining example of serving the Lord and embodying the true spirit of a Christian. In 2023, the nonprofit group, Centenarians of Oklahoma, interviewed Casimir, as his 104th birthday was approaching. When asked what he'd like to be remembered for, Casimir simply stated, "forgive people". In all of his 105 years, that's what made the difference in his life. Casimir was a forgiving, loving man and his legacy of compassion and service to others will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Casimir was preceded in passing by his parents, Teofil and Martha Sokolnicki; his wife, Lois Sokolnicki; son-in-law, Michael Robinson; and sisters, Agnes Sochacki and her husband Chester, and Theresa Sokolnicki. Casimir was also preceded in passing by his older brother that passed as an infant.
