Cassandra R. "Cassie" Smith, 38, of Albany, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2024,
surrounded by family.
Born February 18, 1986, in Athens, Ohio, the daughter of Dixon R. And Connie Sue Smith
of Albany. Cassie had a love for volleyball and coached Aleta after graduating from Alexander
High School in 2004. She pursued dental hygiene at Shawnee State University, and worked at
Alpha Dental and other dental offices as an oral surgical assistant.
In addition to her parents, Cassie is survived by her son Braden Cole Smith of Albany. and
her siblings Justin (Sarah) Smith of Albany, Tammy (Lee) Johnston of Missouri, Linda (Shaun)
Plummer of Albany, Thomas (Penny) Smith of Maryland and multiple aunts, uncles, nieces,
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ralph G. And Gwenda M. Smith of Albany,
William C. Miller of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Rose Mary Miller (Mack Thompson) of Albany.
Cassie struggled with addiction for many years, fighting relentlessly against her demons,
but she was so much more. She was an amazing person with dreams of her own and a love
for life. A great heart, a gift to the world and her family, that was lost and can never be

Visitation will be Saturday July 27, 2024, 11:00 AM, at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home.
A Service will follow at 1:00 PM and burial will be in Temple Cemetery.
