Cassandra Lianne "Casey" Tipps

Our beloved Cassandra (Casey) Lianne Tipps of Brackettville, Texas, passed away on February, 4, 2026, at the age of 47. Casey was a cancer survivor of 17 years until she found herself having to battle cancer again. She battled strong, she battled fierce, and she battled with grace.

Born on May 3, 1978, in Del Rio, Texas, Casey was a wonderful mother, beautiful daughter, kind sister, and a true friend. Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Lydia Morin Tipps; brother, Jeffrey Glenn Tipps II (Donald); sister, Jamie Velma Malloy; partner, Sarah Rodriguez and their children, Sylas and Emryss; nieces Emily Malloy (Jared), Ava Su (Jerry), Abigail Malloy; and nephew, Nathan Malloy (Marissa). Casey also leaves behind countless loving friends and relatives. She is preceded in death by her father, Jeffrey Glenn Tipps; grandmothers, Agapita Sandoval Morin & Hazel Ilene Tipps; grandfathers, Martin Morin & Adrian David Tipps; and her cherished dogs, Lucky and Matty.

Casey treasured her role as mother, and loved helping raise Sylas and Emryss to be intelligent and insightful. She graduated from Brackettville High School in 1996, Southwest Texas Junior College in 1998, and the Art Institute of Houston in 2000 with a degree in culinary arts. Casey spent the majority of her career serving the community of Del Rio as general manager at Applebee's. She shaped the many lives of her employees, built lasting friendships, and supported her coworkers through the challenges of Covid-19 on the restaurant industry. Casey will be remembered for her love, strength, humor, kindness to all, and dedication to her friends and loved ones.

Cremation services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home; A memorial service will be held at the Brackettville Sunset Funeral Home, 302 E. Spring St, Brackettville, Texas on March 13, 2026 at 11:00AM.

Cassandra's primary oncologist was located in San Antonio, but Val Verde Regional Medical Center treated her to the extent of their capabilities. VVRMC consistently treated her with love, care, dignity and respect during her battle. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center's Legacy Foundation in Casey's name. The VVRMC Legacy Foundation's goal is to expand their scope of treatment options for the citizens of southwest Texas, including the ability to administer cancer therapies and care for patients whose oncologists are located elsewhere.
