Lela Mae Tipps

Lela Mae (Prince) Tipps, age 92 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Princeton, Alabama on March 9, 1933, to the late Eliza and Mack Prince. She was a graduate of Huntland High School, where she played varsity basketball. A very energetic lady, she was a member of the Senior Citizen Clogging Team. Lela Mae loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Winchester Boulevard Church of Christ. She is now with Jesus and all of her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley L. Tipps; daughters, Shelia Syler and Sherry Johnson; brothers, Gerald and Stanley Prince; and sister, Regina Shafer. Lela Mae is survived by her daughters, Shermaine Berry and Richetta Jacks; brother, Roger Prince; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
