Caterina Riccardi

Caterina (Labbadia) Riccardi, 99, of Bristol, CT passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Antonio Riccardi, and all of her siblings.

Born on May 1, 1926, in Lenola, Italy, daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosaria (DiManno) Labbadia, Caterina brought her deep-rooted Italian heritage and love of family with her when she immigrated to the United States in 1967. Caterina's presence filled every room - often with the warm aroma of homemade pasta, freshly baked cookies, and the comforting hum of her sewing machine. A gifted seamstress, Caterina spent years working at D&L in Bristol and was known for her exceptional skill and attention to detail - so much so that everyone wanted to bring their work to her. Caterina found great joy in her garden, where she spent many hours nurturing plants and harvesting vegetables, while her kitchen remained the welcoming heart of her home; a place where stories were told, recipes were passed down, and everyone left full. She took immense pride in watching her grandchildren grow and was their biggest supporter in every endeavor. In recent years, her heart belonged to her great-granddaughters, Sage and Millie, whose laughter and visits brought light to her days. Caterina will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She is survived by three sons: Frank Riccardi and wife, Maria, Glenn Riccardi and wife, Annette, and Sal Riccardi and wife, Maureen; six grandchildren: Brian Riccardi and partner, Sophie, Matthew Riccardi, Christopher Riccardi and wife, Yalith, Andrew Riccardi and partner Ilona, Alexandra Gold and husband Josh, and Madison Riccardi and fiance, Matt; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (August 29, 2025) at 11:30 AM at St. Anthony Church, 111 School St., Bristol. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol.
