Catherine Bailey

Catherine (Myers) Bailey passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friend, on Thursday, February 27th, 2025. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, April 4th at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Catherine “Cathy” Vernette Myers was born to Gerald and Dorothy Myers on July 19th, 1962 in San Francisco, CA. Cathy grew up in Corona, CA where she attended, and graduated high school in 1981. After school she worked a couple jobs before landing at Stone Creek Elementary, where she worked as a custodian for many years. She was married to Carl Bailey on April 15th, 1983. Together they welcomed her first daughter, Danielle, into the world in November 1994. They later separated, and she had her second daughter, Justine, in January 2004, with her long-time love, Danny Angulo. Her girls were her world, and she loved them with every fiber of her being. In 2008 Cathy and her daughters moved to Granite Falls, Minnesota, where she resided until her passing in 2025. While living in MN she worked at CCMH and Perfect Paws in Montevideo, and had her own cleaning business. 

She enjoyed drawing, photography, foraging for mushrooms, and taking in all the beauty this world has to offer. You would ALWAYS find her with her phone in her hand, taking pictures of something! The family asks that if you have any of her art or pictures to please send them copies! 

Cathy lived life to its fullest, every moment of every day. She faced her fair share of hardships, and rose above them every time stronger than the last. There was never a dull moment with her around. Whether she was cracking jokes with friends, swinging from vines on dirt roads, or just sitting around a campfire, Cathy always knew how to keep things interesting. She was a wonderful mother and friend, the kind of person that would give you the shirt off her back. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and to know her was to love her. 

Cathy is survived by her two children Danielle (Justin) Bailey and Justine Angulo; her grandchildren Faith, Aiden, and Bennett; Her brothers, Greg Myers and Steve Myers; her sister, Lynn Myers Snyder; Niece, Shauna (Sebastion) Rios; and Nephews, Robbie Snyder and David Rios, and Aunt Ann Kruse. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Jerry Myers; aunt Bee (Ken) Heinemann, and uncles Bill and Harry Botten.
