Catherine Claire Bausch, age 90, of Newburgh IN made her peaceful transition on Saturday November 15, 2025. We are certain she was joyously greeted and welcomed by her husband Carl Bausch, her parents Joseph and Ann Rempe, and her sister Joan Quinn.
She was born June 29, 1935, in St Louis, the youngest of three children including her eldest brother (John/Jack) and sister Joan. She met Carl at a local dance; they were married on August 29, 1957. She supported him through his military service as an officer in the Marines and his career at Mead Johnson. Through this time, she raised their four children, moved the family home several times, and supported church and community organizations. She also enjoyed volunteering at the YWCA Live Y’ers support group, St Mary’s Women’s group, the Opportunity Shop, and many other local charitable efforts.
She will be greatly missed by her children Mark (Susan) Bausch of Carbondale IL, Thomas Bausch of Shoals IN, Joseph (Diane) Bausch of Philadelphia PA, and daughter Mary (James) Duffy of Galien MI and her brother Jack Rempe of Missouri as well as her grandchildren Emma Bausch (Eric Sirota), Hannah Bausch, and Quinn Houck-King (Nick King).
Visitation will be from 8:30-10:00 am on Saturday November 29, 2025, at St Mary’s Church in Evansville IN, with a Funeral Service and Mass following immediately at 10 am.
Memorial Donations may be made to the St Mary’s Food Pantry, 613 Cherry St, Evansville IN 47713.
