Walter Bausch, age 89, formerly of Wuppertal, Germany, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Walter was born on July 19, 1936, son of the late Maria and Robert Bausch. A true collector at heart, Walter loved classic cars, rare stamps, and the friendships he made while selling at Wolff's Flea Market.
He enjoyed a life well lived, surrounded by the people and passions he cherished most as a devoted Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Opa, and friend.
He's preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Bausch; his sister Helga (Dieter); and sister-in-law Carol Ann Gorski. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Diane (Danny), Robert (Lenore), Janet (John) and Eric; Beloved Opa to Stephanie (Kody), Amber (Edgaras), Dylan, Michelle, Eric and Vanessa; his great grandchildren Hunter, River, Arlo and Ezra; Sisters-in-law, Phyllis Rutherford and Patricia Mitria (Alphonse); Brother-in-law, Ted Schmidt; nieces, nephews and many more dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 3 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 950 S York Road, Bensenville, IL. A second visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m., directly followed by a funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Bensenville. Interment at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
