Catherine Bogner

Catherine "Cathy" Bogner of Cary, North Carolina passed away shortly after 3 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in her home after a brief but terminal illness. She was 69 years old.
She was born on March 16, 1956, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Stephen "Steve" and R. Marilyn Hercegh Ciprich.
Cathy graduated from Sharon High School in 1974. She began her college career at Penn State University-Shenango Valley Campus, where she was a cheerleader for the basketball team. She transferred to Indiana State University her sophomore year, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Commercial Art in 1978.
Cathy moved back to Pennsylvania after graduating from college, where she worked as an administrative assistant at a medical office for a few years. She married John R. Bogner Jr. on May 26, 1979, and they were married for 16 years. In 1987, Cathy relocated with her immediate family to Raleigh, NC. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at Fonville Morisey Realty and then at York Simpson Underwood Realty. Cathy also worked in the concession stand at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh for several years, which was something she thoroughly enjoyed. She volunteered her time and artistic talents for multiple events that took place at her children's and grandchildren's schools as well as in the community.
Ms. Bogner was a parishioner at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary. She enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren and participating in various activities at the church and at her place of residence.
Surviving are: a daughter, Danielle Bogner Larson and her husband, Benjamin Larson, Cary; a son, John R. Bogner III and his wife Adrienne Breznik Bogner, Holly Springs; a brother, Mr. Stephen J. Ciprich Jr., Ohio; a sister-in-law, Cindy Bedich Ciprich, South Carolina; and five grandchildren, Bradley, Samantha, and Charlotte Larson, Cary; and Paige and Shea Bogner, Holly Springs.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Marilyn Ciprich.
A funeral mass will take place at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, NC on Monday, May 5th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a monetary donation to St. Michael's Church on behalf of Cathy Bogner.
