Mrs. Califano, 92, passed away on March 24, 2026.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 1pm in the Chapel with Fr Davis Celebrant. Inurnment to follow in the church columbarium.

She was born on April 2, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Cosmo and Rosalie (Dianotti) Celauro.

Our Mom was the kind of woman you didn't forget - strong willed, fiercely independent, full of fire and a devoted mother. She could be feisty but that spirit was part of what made her so unforgettable. Loving her family with protective, unwavering heart and always showing up for those she loved and always there to lend a helping hand no matter what. She taught by example to be resilient, to be real and never let life dull your edge. Her faith was a steady anchor throughout her life. Guided by strong religious beliefs, she found comfort, purpose, and resilience in her relationship with God.

Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her legacy lives on in the strength she passed down, the memories she created and the love that will always remain

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, TinaMarie Garbarino (Anthony) and Judith Marcus (Jonathan); grandchildren, Robert Garbarino (Vanessa), Andrew Torres (Jasmine), Michelle Rezkalla and Katelyn Volles (Adam); great-grandchildren, Jasmine Torres, Riley Volles, Gabriel Garbarino, Priscilla Torres, Adriana Torres, Maryam Pezkalla, Matteo Garbarino and Mia Rose Volles.

Catherine is preceded in death by her beloved husband John and siblings Carmela Palamidessi and Benedict Celauro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VIA Hospice and Palliative care.
