Catherine ‘Cathy’ Basinski

July 1944 to August 2025

She left us in peace on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at the age of 81 after a battle with dementia. Born July 4, 1944 to George and Marion (Stephens) Probst in Lansing, Michigan. Cathy’s work life in retail and recruiting started later in life after her years as a stay-at-home mom with two young children. She supported her family as they moved from Michigan to Kansas and then on to Germany and England. After England, Cathy and her family moved to Boca Raton, Florida. She lived in South Florida for over forty years before spending her final years in Franklin, TN close to her daughter Dawne, and her family.

She was a devoted friend and maintained long standing relationships with those she met during her travels and life. In her free-time, Cathy loved to read, create beautifully crafted greeting and holiday cards and care for her cherished orchids. Preceding her in death were her parents and her sister, Joanne. Surviving her are her children, Brett (Danielle) Basinski, Dawne (Zach) Bunn; grandchildren, Max, Carter and Addison Basinski and Olivia Bunn; sister, Carol Besse; Aunt, Virginia Nash, as well as many extended family and friends.
