Catherine “Cathy” Margaret Meyer, 83, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 15, 2024, in Perry, Georgia. Born in the Bronx, New York, on September 22, 1940, Cathy was the beloved daughter of the late Dominic Cinque and Elizabeth Augusta O’Neill.
Cathy served as a devoted military wife. She accompanied her husband to each stationed location and transformed all into cherished homes for her family. She had a natural gift for connecting with people and embraced everyone she met as a friend. Cathy loved to cook and was always eager to lend a hand to anyone in need. Professionally, she served as the Office Manager of Faircloth Realty.
Cathy cherished her family, finding her greatest happiness in the time spent with them, especially with her children and grandchildren. Above all, her faith was a cornerstone, and she was a dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her son, Stephen G. Meyer.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of 66 years, Col. Robert “Bob” Meyer, USAF (Ret.) of Warner Robins; children, Staci Ann Erwin (David) of Warner Robins, Shannon Merritt (John) of Perry, and Nicole Burns (Robert) of Marietta; grandchildren, Caitlyn Murphy (Buster), John Maxwell Merritt (Raven), Robert Cole Murphy (Rachel), Lucas Stephen Merritt, and Mary Elizabeth Merritt; great-grandchildren, Abigail Grace Murphy, Jaxson Joseph Elliott, Murphie Laine Simmons, and Brooklyn Marie Peek; brother, Michael McKeon of New York; as well as several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held in Cathy’s honor at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation an hour prior. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live at St. Patrick Catholic Church’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/stpatrickga/. Cathy will be laid to rest at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in a private ceremony.
The family will accept yellow flowers or donations may be given in memory of Catherine “Cathy” Margaret Meyer to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
