Catherine (Cathie) Ann Chill, 69 of Marion passed away at 3:07 am on October 25, 2024, at The DeWolfe House. She was born April 15, 1955, in Brookville, Pennsylvania to Joseph A. and Shirley D. (Evans) Hetzler, who preceded her in death. On September 21, 1985, she married Michael Chill, who survives in Marion.

A 1973 graduate of River Valley High School, Cathie worked for GTE/Verizon for 35 years. In her spare time, she loved to turn her porch and deck into a magical oasis filled with an abundance of flowers and plants. She was a huge football fan, cheering on Notre Dame and the Browns every season. She finally reunited at the Rainbow Bridge with her beloved fur baby, Charlie, who she missed dearly.

One of her favorite places to spend time was the beach. She loved it so much that she went to live on the beaches of Florida right after high school. She was a free spirit who spent time tanning and hanging out by the water. When she wasn’t at the beach she still lived on beach time, running fashionably late...to everything.

She is survived by her stepdaughter Erin (Troy) Chapman and stepson Adam (Niamh) Chill; grandchildren Kyle (Brittany) Chapman, Morgan (Cameron) Yoder, Sam Chill, and Mary Chill; siblings Patricia Croman of Marion, OH, Lesa (James) Wende of Lima, OH and Robley (Shelly) Hetzler of Monongahela, PA; brothers-in-law Jim Chill and Bob (Cathy) Chill; sisters-in-law Beppi DeWolfe and Mary Pat Hayes; and 5 great-grandchildren, 10 nieces, 7 nephews, 4 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.

There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Cathie at a later date. Donations may be made in honor of Cathie to The Michael J. Fox Foundation to help support Parkinson’s research and finding a cure (http://www.michaeljfox.org/).
