Catherine “Cathy” Louise Crain, a compassionate aide who dedicated her life to serving others, passed away on January 3, 2024. Born on August 6, 1953, in Parsons, Kansas, Cathy left a lasting impact on those she cared for and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Cathy's career as an aide spanned many years, during which she worked at The Village Manor Nursing Home, The Wesley House, Jordan’s Home Health, and Autumn Winds Assisted Living. Her genuine love for people and her unwavering commitment to providing the best care possible made her an invaluable member of the healthcare community. Cathy's kind-hearted nature and nurturing spirit brought comfort to countless individuals in need.
On January 6, 2024, a visitation will be held at Myrtle Springs Baptist Church in Quitman, Texas. Friends and family will gather from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM to pay their respects and share fond memories of Cathy. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. This sacred space will serve as a fitting setting to honor Cathy's life and bid her farewell.
Cathy leaves behind a legacy of love that extends beyond her professional career. She touched the lives of many individuals with her kindness and compassion. In addition to patients, she cared for over the years, Cathy will be deeply missed by her surviving family members.
Among those grieving her loss are her beloved children: James Scoggins of Denison, Jared Scoggins and his wife Amanda of Quitman, Joseph Crain of Quitman, Ashley Crain of Jefferson, Christian McPherson of Dallas, Adolfo Anguiano of Dallas, Eric Anguiano of Dallas. Their loss is accompanied by countless cherished memories spent with their mother.
Cathy also leaves behind her siblings David McPherson of Dallas, Larry Shankles of Quitman and Kevin McPherson of Dallas. She also leaves behind her grand kids, Kylea Scoggins of Lindale, Jaden Smith of Alba, Jericka Scoggins of Alba, Jimmie Scoggins of Quitman, Zelya Lilley of Jefferson
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Ulysses McPherson and Dorothy Annaree Mount McPherson; sisters, Kimberly Anguiano, Pat New and Judy Beard; brother, Michael McPherson and grandson Jared Scoggins, Jr.
The loss of Catherine Louise Crain will undoubtedly be deeply felt by all who knew her. Though no longer with us, her legacy of compassion and selflessness will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. The memory of her warm smile and gentle touch will forever remain in our hearts.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Cathy as a remarkable woman whose life was marked by love and service. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the heartfelt memories they shared with her.
