Catherine Claudette Daniel

Catherine Claudette Innis Daniel, 75, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Rex Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Nellie Josapha Innis & Fitz Clarence Clarke on November 24, 1950, in Saint Lucia, the second oldest of four children: Lucille, Emanuel, and Elizabeth (deceased).

Catherine spent her early years in Castries, Saint Lucia, where she grew up rooted in faith, family, and community. It was at the Bethel Tabernacle church that she met the love of her life, Denis Daniel. They were married on August 4, 1975, and later moved to St. Thomas in 1979 before settling in St. Croix in 1988, where they built a home that remains filled with memories.

Catherine became a naturalized US citizen on May 27, 1997, on the beautiful Island of St. Croix. One thing about Catherine was that she was a news fanatic, always watching MSNBC. She was very into politics.

To their union, they welcomed five children: Denison (deceased), Claude, Darrell (Dylan), Merisa, and Melissa. Catherine worked for many years as a custodial manager at Manor School in St. Croix, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and warm spirit.

Catherine lived life her way-boldly, joyfully, and unapologetically. She touched the hearts of all who knew her and was deeply loved by family and friends alike.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Denis; her children: Claude Daniel (Priscilla), Darrell Dylan Daniel, Merisa Della Daniel-Mann (Lamount), and Melissa Diana Daniel; her grandchildren: Nassyr Daniel, Sahkai Stowe, Davion J. Daniel, Cree Daniel, Maliyah Edwards, and Cayden Mann; as well as many other beloved relatives and friends too numerous to name.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 19, 2025, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave, Raleigh.

A viewing will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 to 10:45 am, at the funeral home.
