Upon graduating St. Matthews High School, Catherine went on to marry the love of her life, John DePaul. Together they shared 67 wonderful years raising their family. Catherine was a devoted wife, cherished mother to John DePaul (Debbie), the late James, Cathyann Dolan (Steve), Susan Ortlieb (Ed), and Diane O'Neill (Dan). She was Mom-Mom to 14 grandchildren and Great Mom-Mom to 9, dear sister to the late Jackie Schneider and Patricia Biel (John), and friend to many. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
In her free time, Catherine loved gardening, bowling at Steppy's with her teammates, traveling and shenanigans with her sister Pat, skiing and dancing with her husband John. She enjoyed watching cooking shows and was an accomplished chef on her own. She loved cooking and entertaining and the many meals she prepared were shared with her family and friends. She loved a good Manhattan and her daily glass of red wine. Her grandchildren could not wait to go to Mom-Mom's house where they were always greeted with a smile, a ham sandwich and probably a trip to the toy store. She was a special woman, always gracious, kind, caring, classy and a wonderful role model for everyone. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and she was always there for anyone in need. We find comfort knowing she is reunited with her son James.
Relatives and friends are invited to Catherine's Life Celebration on Saturday August 26, 2023 from 11 am to 11:50 am with her Memorial Service to follow at 12 noon all at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike. Inurnment will be private at a later date at the convenience of the family.
