Catherine Elizabeth Edes

Catherine Elizabeth Edes, lovingly known as Cathy, passed away peacefully in her home in Hendersonville, NC, on August 13, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on February 18, 1942, in Turner Falls, MA, Cathy lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community.

Cathy was the cherished daughter of the late Francis Bauch and Mary Looney and was preceded in death by her brother William Bauch. Her journey through life was marked by her energetic spirit and service within her community. She often volunteered her time at various organizations within the community.

Cathy was the proud owner of a successful hair salon, where she not only showcased her talent but also formed lasting friendships with her clients. Her work was more than a profession; it was an outlet for her creativity and love for making others feel beautiful.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cathy found joy in traveling and exploring new places with her family. Her heart was always full when surrounded by her loved ones, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Cathy is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, James. Together, they built a family rooted in love and support. She leaves behind her daughter Shannon and her husband Michael Cheek of Hendersonville, sons Daniel Edes of Charlotte, NC, and Mark Edes and his wife Rose of Hendersonville, NC. Cathy's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Emma Edes, Ethan Edes, Brooke Edes, Taylor Cheek, and Jackson Cheek, who were her greatest source of happiness.

A celebration of Cathy's life will be held at the Riverwind Community Center, with details to be announced. In this time of remembrance, we honor a woman whose warmth, kindness, and compassion for life touched everyone she met.

Cathy's memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
