Catherine Boyd Franco, affectionately known as Cathy to her loved ones, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the age of 74. She came into this world on October 22, 1949, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the cherished daughter of Charles T. Boyd Jr and Nancy Creekmore Boyd, who preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Julian (Frank) Franco, and their children, Cynthia Franco, Anna Dennis, and Joseph Franco, along with her dear brother, Charles (Chuck) T. Boyd III. Cathy's legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Music was Cathy's passion, and she shared her talent with joy. From playing the church organ during services at Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Portsmouth to enchanting audiences alongside her brother at the Portsmouth USO club and various local events, her melodious spirit touched many hearts. Cathy dedicated numerous years serving in musical staff roles at Norfolk and Virginia Beach Catholic Churches before retiring from the Catholic Diocese of Richmond in Virginia. Alongside her husband Frank, Cathy also found success as co-owner and operator of a thriving RV Park in Barstow, Texas, where they created cherished memories for many. Their accomplishments afforded them a second home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where they enjoyed summer retreats together.

In honoring Cathy's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service held at this time. Instead, her family and friends will remember her with love and gratitude for the countless moments of joy and harmony she brought into their lives.
