Catherine Virginia Hulett Garrison, age 96 of Springfield, was born June 21, 1928 in Bazaar, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil Willis Hulett and Flora Eunice (Baker) Hulett. Catherine was the fifth child of eleven.
Her siblings include: Lillian Wanetta (Hulett) Storment, Victor Carl Hulett, Ellsworth Lee Hulett, Peggy Jean Hulett, Paul Dewight Hulett, Twilla Yvonne (Hulett) Johnson, Roy Dee Hulett, Vesta Gayle (Hulett) Burns, Hazen Rex Hulett, and Judy Dell (Hulett) Bissing.
Catherine graduated from high school in Matfield Green, Kansas in May 1947 and started her 30 year career of waitressing. After moving to Springfield, she met Billy Joe Garrison and they were united in marriage on November 8, 1949. To this union three sons were born: Gary Gene, Raymond Lee and Tim Allen.
Catherine's joys were her children and grandchildren, cooking Sunday lunches and holiday meals for the whole family. She also enjoyed gardening and her flowers. After moving into the Manor Elfindale in 2022, she loved playing Bingo, going out to eat, and participating in many activities.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Bill of 74 years, her parents, four sisters and four brothers.
Catherine is survived by three sons and one daughter in law, Gary Garrison of Willard, Raymond and Clara Garrison of Springfield, and Tim Garrison of Springfield; four grandchildren, Kristin Ratliff and husband Josh, Bryant Garrison, Amber Garrison and Daniel Garrison and wife Alia; three step grandchildren, Michael Oberly and wife Jamie, Nicholas Oberly, and Justin Oberly; five great grandchildren, Katelyn Garrison, Kamron Humphrey, Emma Ratliff, Braxton Garrison and Kennedy Garrison; eight step great grandchildren, Megan Schenker and husband Dray, Cody Oberly and wife Ally, Wyatt Oberly and wife Tylar, Tylor Witcher, Drake Witcher, Abby Calyean, Josh Ratliff and Justus Ratliff; and one great great granddaughter, Oliva Walsh.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dr. Steve Eutsler officiating. Burial will follow at McCracken Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. immediately before the funeral at the funeral home.
