Catherine B. "Kitty" Gottshall, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on February 12th, 2025, at the age of 87. She was the devoted wife of Ronald Gottshall for 66 years and a loving mother to Deborah Matuszak (Paul) and Catherine Miller (John). Kitty's legacy lives on in her beloved grandchildren: Katie MacConnell (Fred), Kim Townsend (Bill), Paul Matuszak (Meghan), Kevin Matuszak, Joe Miller (Alissa), and Lauren Walker (Dan), and in her great-grandchildren Ryan, Avery, Paul, Charlie Rose, Claire, Brennan, Declan, Brooklynn, Liam, and Joey. Kitty was a cherished sister to Al Deskiewicz and the late Henry Deskiewicz. She is also deeply missed by her sister-in-law Patricia Deskiewicz, and many nieces and nephews.
Kitty was born and raised in Philadelphia to her parents Alfred and Clare Deskiewicz. She was a proud graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School and a longtime member of the St. Jerome's Ladies' Guild.
Kitty's greatest joy came from her family. She devoted her life to creating a warm and loving home, where her presence was felt in every moment. She found fulfillment in the simple pleasures of spending time with her loved ones. Kitty's kindness, strength, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to Kitty's Life Celebration on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025 from 9 – 11 AM at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154.
