Catherine F. Harder, 97, a resident of Halifax, Vermont has gone to be with her Lord on December 31st, 2024 in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Cathy was born on June 4th 1927, Malverne, New York to the late Christian and Clara (Curley) Vollmer. She received her High School diploma from Hempstead High School and was employed at various construction companies in New York City and Long Island where she worked as an office manager.
Cathy loved to spend her time socializing and attending social gatherings with her friends. Politics were one of her favorite things to stay up to date on and discuss with others. She was very passionate about her faith, devoting the majority of her time to her Bible study and sharing the word of God with others. Cathy was the oldest member of the Halifax Bible Church at the time of her passing and will dearly missed by all who knew her.
Cathy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Pastor George Bruns, and Mrs. Twyla (Butenhoff) Bruns of Lynbrook, New York and by her two grandchildren Michelle (Bruns) Harder and Yevette (Bruns) Woodruff, and by her late husband Richard Harder's three children from a previous marriage William Harder and wife Theresa, Marguerite (Harder) Bucher and husband Jerry and Allan Harder and wife Michelle (Bruns) all from Long Island along with five great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Cathy will be held in the spring on April 11th, 2025. A church service will be held at the Halifax Bible Church at 10:00 am and a graveside committal service will be held at 12 pm at Niles Cemetery in Halifax, Vt.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Cathy may be made to the Halifax Bible Church c/o Covey Allen Shea Funeral Home, P.O. Box 215, Wilmington, Vt. 05363 or to the Hendrickson Avenue Bible Church, 72 Edward St., Lynbrook, N.Y. 11563.
