Catherine Nagle Obituary

Catherine Antoinette Nagle, 36, known affectionately to friends and family as Kate, was taken by the angels to Jesus on September 3, 2025, in Murrieta, California after a brave battle with cancer. She was in her home surrounded by the love, music, prayer and support of her family at the time of her passing. Kate was born on December 30, 1988 to John Nagle and Catherine (Falco) Nagle at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. She is survived by her loving parents, John and Catherine, her three brothers who loved her more than anything in the world: John (Kathryn), Eric (Selin) and Stephen (Evelyn), three nephews: Johnny, George and Stevie, and one niece, Grace, all of whom she adored with all her heart. Kate held a bachelor's degree from Cal State Channel Islands and was studying to become a nurse while working with children with special needs when she fell ill.

Kate was born to a family of musicians. She had the voice of an angel and was a member of the children's choir at Holy Family Church in Newark, DE where she made her First Holy Communion. She was a gifted classical pianist who enjoyed the works of Beethoven, Schubert and Mozart, and the film scores of Ennio Morricone, Howard Shore, John Williams, and especially James Horner. She could play piano by ear by the age of five, but soon learned to read music as well. She started piano lessons at the age of nine at the University of Delaware Community Music School, studying under the direction of Michael Borton. According to Borton, her forte was playing the works of J.S. Bach. The last concert she attended was this past May - The Pacific Symphony Orchestra's performance of Beethoven's Emperor Concerto, her favorite classical piece.

Kate loved rock music as well - her favorites included The Beatles, The Kinks, and Al Stewart. She developed into a skilled rock guitarist over her last few years. Kate was also a film enthusiast, with the Lord of the Rings films, The Princess Bride and Legends of the Fall among her favorite films. She also loved classic Disney films, especially 1973's Robin Hood. She was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.

As a youth, Kate attended Glasgow High School in Newark, DE where she was a star varsity cross country runner. She won numerous talent competitions playing piano in her school days, amazing audiences by playing classical piano pieces upside-down with hands crossed as Mozart did in the film, Amadeus. She loved to draw Japanese animation, winning numerous awards for her art. A stunningly beautiful girl who stood 5'10," Kate was also a successful fashion model, working for Elite, Ford, LA Models and MMA.

Above all else, Kate was a devout Catholic who loved Jesus, her family, and all people and living creatures. She adored her father and her brothers and held an especially close bond with her mother, Catherine, who never left her side during her illness. Kate enjoyed being around people - anyone who met her loved her keen wit and infectious sense of humor. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5pm to 8pm at Evans-Brown Mortuary, Menifee, followed by a mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11am at St. Martha's Catholic Church, Murrieta.
