Catherine Ann Oliver (Cathy) Poss passed away peacefully on Christmas Day at 69 years old of natural causes at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. She was born May 27, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia to Jack and Doris Oliver. She was the oldest of their two children. The family moved to Tucker, Georgia, and she graduated from Tucker High School in 1973.
She married Tony Poss in 1985. They lived in Tucker, Buford, and then they settled in Ball Ground, Georgia. Tony and Cathy have two sons - Patrick and Phillip. Cathy retired from the Insurance Industry and spent time decorating their home, caring for their dog Nancy, and watching The Young & The Restless proudly since its premiere in 1973.
Cathy was preceded in death by her mother, Doris; her brother, Key; and her in-laws, Olen and Faye Poss. She leaves behind her husband of 40 years, Tony; her two sons, Patrick and Phillip; her four grandsons, Gavin, Kadin, Everest, and Braylen; and her beloved dog, Nancy. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Robin (Phil) of Snellville; her two nieces, Amanda and Amber; and her nephew, Anthony; as well as several cousins and her father, Jack. She will be deeply missed by all that loved her.
Cathy will be buried in Tucker, Georgia at Floral Hills Cemetery. She did not want a service; just for everyone to remember the good times they had with her.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Cathy's mother, Doris and mother-in-law, Faye, who both suffered with the disease prior to their deaths.
