Catherine M. Spross

Catherine M. Spross, 87. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother on January 23, 2026, in Hyde Park, NY, surrounded by her loving family. Catherine was born June 20, 1938, in Poughkeepsie, NY. Catherine had a wonderful sense of humor, loved gardening, cooking, entertaining at home, and shared her many skills with students (esp. Cut n Pierce Lamp Shades). She went to the gym with her many friends and was an excellent swimmer that once entered a challenge to swim across the Hudson River. She loved traveling, music and dancing. Most of all, she loved her family. She leaves behind her daughter Debora Walsh Peet, son Kevin (Vivian) Walsh, long time partner Robert J. Marone, grand children Kyle Walsh (Tyler Mikels), Paige Walsh (Josh Marinack), a sister Bella Surico Landers, many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her, was husband Fred H. Spross, a son Timothy A. Walsh, mother Celestia M. McCourt (William McCourt), father Frank Surico, brothers John, Frank, Jimmy, Donnie, Gary, Joel, David Surico and nephew Scott Surico. Catherine has lived her final years at home due to the wonderful care provided by Hospice. Visitation will be held on Friday January 30, 2026, from 10am to 12 noon at the Joseph J.
