Cathy passed to eternal rest Sunday, September 29, 2024 at home with her husband of 33 years, Randall Stephens. She was born Catherine Jean Smith on May 12, 1949 in Deposit, NY. The first child of four and the only daughter of Carl J. and Verna Ferguson Smith.

Cathy loved to lend a hand at school functions and with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed mowing the lawn and would do so throughout Starrucca in her spare time. In the evenings, she could be found watching television or visiting with the neighbors. Cathy spent the last few years of her life loving on one (of many) of her grandchildren, Liam. He brought her such joy to her final days.
Her friends thought of her as one of the most trustworthy people they ever knew and would lend absolutely anyone a hand when in need/
Cathy was proceeded in death by her parents, Carl J. and Verna (Ferguson) Smith, as well as two brothers, Robert and Thomas Smith.
Cathy is survived by her husband, Randall Stephens; two daughters, Abby Stephens and Laurie Schmitz; three sons: John, Christopher, and Michael Burnett; and one step son, Chad Stephens.
