Cathleen passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 at her home in Hettinger, ND.
Cathleen Rachel Rychner was the youngest of 8 children born to Elmer and Ida (Schuh) Rychner. She was known as the littlest sister by all of her older siblings. After grade school and high school, she went off to Oak Hills Bible College where she pursued a four year degree. While at college, she went on a mission trip to Hong Kong and Mexico. After returning to North Dakota for a few years, she moved to Bemidji, MN where she lived for ten years. Cathleen returned to Killdeer and worked for Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing for several years before making her home in Hettinger. While in her thirties, Cathleen developed a brain tumor. Although she survived the removal of the tumor, it started a slow deterioration of her body. She had a form of MD, which complicated her health problems. After a steady decline, she was called home to heaven in the first month of the New Year, 2025.
Cathleen was a great cook and an avid seamstress, known for her beautiful embroidery. She was a big fan of old movies, especially those with Doris Day or Shirley Temple in them.
Cathleen is survived by her mother, Ida Rychner of Killdeer; siblings, Rodney Rychner, Killdeer, ND; Omer (Roselyn) Rychner, Killdeer; Arnold (Virginia)Rychner, Ekalaka, MT; Cordella Rychner, Killdeer, ND; Colleen (Dan) Rowe, Dalton, NE; sister-in-law Mira Rychner, Tulsa, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her father, Elmer Rychner, brothers, Craig and Mark Rychner.
