Cathy Ann Hansen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 75 years old.
Born on January 6, 1950, in Chadron, Nebraska, Cathy lived a life defined by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength touched all who knew her.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Hansen, with whom she shared a beautiful life in Parker, Colorado filled with family and laughter for 28 years. She was a devoted mother to Kristin Hermanson (Evan), Sara Bloom (Jeff) and Jeff Wenande (Sheri), and a cherished grandmother to Kyra, Chace, Asher, Oliver, Ozzie, Owen, Kendall, and Hazel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Wenande, whom she held dearly in her heart throughout her life.
Through her marriage to Jerry, Cathy was also a proud stepmother to Erin Prashaw (Michele), Jason Hansen (Jennifer), Andy Hansen (Becky Miller) and Joel Hansen (Katherine), and a loving grandmother to Cailey, Hayden, Harper, Ali, Maddox and Grace.
Cathy found immense joy in being a grandmother, offering her love, joy, laughter, and endless support to each of her fourteen grandchildren. She was the heart of every gathering, the gentle presence that brought comfort and connection to her family. Her legacy will live on through the lives of the children and grandchildren she adored.
Cathy's life was one of quiet grace and fierce love. She found meaning in the everyday moments-family gatherings, warm hugs, the laughter of grandchildren and watching the clouds drift across the mountain sky. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
A private service will be held to honor Cathy's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to a cancer research organization of your choice.
