Cathy Shaffer Obituary
1952-2023
Cathy elevated with God to gather with her ancestors on July 11, 2023. A fierce mother,
devoted grandmother, dedicated RN, musician and author, and friend to many strays
throughout her lifetime, Cathy believed in always looking for the lessons in life and growing
from them. She believed that all her struggles made her stronger spiritually and even cancer
brought gifts she could only learn by experiencing it. Time is all made up, Plans are all an
illusion. What we have is this moment, to get it right, to live anew.
She is survived by her legacy: Children: Rebecca (Dan) Lindamood, Jessamine (Jeremy) Daly-
Griffen, Lucas (Liz) Daly, and Airlia Shaffer. Also carrying on the light are her grandchildren,
Liam, Aidan, Ty, Leif, Rowan, Willow, Ezra, Hazel, Pippi, and Donovan. She is also survived by
her sisters: Victoria (Larry) Kritzell, Molly (Raymond) Franks, and Sarah Earl. Also a part of her
circle are Christina, Kevin, and Airlia's partner Adi. Many dear nieces and nephews survive. She
was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Howard and Edna Shaffer, and two grandchildren,
Olivia Butterfly and Lucas Winter.
There will be no calling hours. Her children are planning a celebration of life for her close circle
in late fall. They offer gratitude to her for preparing all aspects of her transition so lovingly,
including this announcement, in her own spirit and voice.

Cathy was an amazing lady. She was always there during times of need when she worked at LWARC. She came in the middle of the night to comfort residents and staff when one of our "lovies" passed. Sending my sincere sympathy to all of her family. Cherish her memory always.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear of her passing , I am sure she is with her ancestors and loved ones gone before her. She was a dear person who had love for everyone. My condolences to her family.

Cathy was my supervisor at the ARC but more than that a great friend and support. She was in my heart always even though I hadn´t seen her for awhile. She gave me so many gifts and teachings to live by and I will never forget her.
To her blessed family I am sorry but know that your Mom and grandma and sister loved you all deeply and you were the loves of her life. You all made her proud too in all ways. She will be missed but always in your hearts and there to greet us all one day.
I Love You Cathy Nations Shaffer and I will never forget you !
