Eric Johnson Obituary
He was born on September 14, 1948, in Gowanda, NY to his late parents Allen and Wilma (Myers) Johnson.
Eric graduated from Eden Central Schools and went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He then was employed by the Gowanda Psychiatric Center for over 20 years.
Eric was a member of Eden, Brocton and South Dayton American Legion, the fiddler's association and the Pinnacle Club of South Dayton. He enjoyed writing and had a book published "Hermie" the mouse that saved Christmas. Eric was a dancing fool and would dance everywhere.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan Saye whom he married July 16, 2016, his son Daniel (Shannon) Nelligan, his step children Colleen (Mark) Peterson and Christine (Mark) Johnson; his grandchildren Makenna, John (Tanya), Colby, Shellene, Chantal, Chanel, Shana (Kenny), Kirsten (Derek), Beth (Jared), and Chandra (Zack); 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, his siblings Valarie Hill, Herb ( Barb) Johnson, Kay (Doug) Akins and Dan (Cathy) Johnson; his two lifelong friends Dexter (Jackie) Nowak and Judy Phillips also survived several nieces, nephews, cousins and In laws.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers Dale and Sam Johnson, also a stepdaughter Connie White.
Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners South Dayton, NY Sunday February 8, 2026, from 1PM to 3PM where a funeral service will immediately follow with Pastor John Dedloff officiating.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the South Dayton Volunteer Fire Department 34 Maple St, South Dayton, NY 14138
