W.L. Case & Company Funeral Directors - MerrillCathy White, 81, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 28, 2025.
Cathy was born on April 20, 1944 to Harold and Ruth LaMee in Midland, MI. She was raised and lived in Merrill her entire life. She attended Merrill High School, graduating in 1962.
Cathy married James White on April 19, 1969. Cathy and Jim maintained a loving and supportive marriage of 56 years. Together they raised five children. Cathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, golfing, spending time with her many friends. She especially enjoyed hosting parties-often with creative themes-where everyone felt welcome and left with full hearts and plenty of laughter. Her greatest joy, however, came from time spent with her fourteen beloved grandchildren. Her kindness and laughter touched everyone she met.
Cathy is survived by her husband, James White; her children, Lori (Mike) Konopacke, Tracy Stemler, Amy White, (fiancé, Stephen Hunter), Jennifer White, and Lisa (Craig) Nohel and her cherished grandchildren, Kaycee Konopacke, Megan (Matt) Furness, Erin Konopacke, Holly (Eric) Jensen, Lauren Baranowski, Paige (Tony) Lugo, Brooke Stemler, Charlie (Katrina) Stemler, Tyler Stemler, Mackenzie Root, Kennedy Root, Avery Schmitz, Clayton (Peyton) Nohel and Addison Nohel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruth LaMee sisters, Donna Supinger and Betty LaMee.
Funeral services including a Catholic Mass will be held on November 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the XXIII Parish (Sacred Heart Church), 445 S. Midland St., Merrill, MI. Visitation will be held at 9:00-11:00 a.m. Luncheon following the funeral from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
