Cayetano Mendoza Aro, 85, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
Fondly known as Tony, he was born and raised in the Philippines, where he pursued his Bachelor of Science in Commerce at De La Salle University in Manila. Tony found joy in various activities, whether he was bowling, line dancing, embarking on casino adventures, or basking in the cherished moments shared with his grandchildren, Xavier and Riley. His legacy will forever be marked by his unwavering love for family and his infectious, fun-loving spirit.
Tony leaves behind his cherished wife, Emilia, his devoted son Ronald, daughter-in-law Kim, and grandchildren Xavier and Riley. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Macario and Maria (Mendoza) Aro, as well as siblings Dr. Aurelia A. Garcia, Melchor M. Aro, Lolita A. DeLuna, Mercedes A. Ilagan, Calixto M. Aro, Dr. Eufronio M. Aro, Filomena A. Agustin, Vincente M. Aro, and Sergio M. Aro.
Services commemorating Tony's remarkable life will be held at Greenville Memorial Home in Jersey City, NJ. The viewing is scheduled for Thursday, April 11, from 4 to 9 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 12, at 10 AM at St. Aloysius Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington
