Cecelia Truxell Gaudiosi, age 90, passed away in Philadelphia on July 23, 2023, during surgery for injuries sustained in a fall.
Mrs. Gaudiosi was predeceased by her husband, Albert V. Gaudiosi (1923-2010), and is survived by her daughter Monica (retired), her son Eric (a U.S. State Department Foreign Service Officer), his spouse Rebecca Webber and his children Vincent and Eleanor.
Mrs. Gaudiosi was born in Philadelphia on December 30, 1932 to Bertrand Truxell and Jane McGee Truxell and was a 1950 graduate of Hallahan High School. She met her husband Albert, then a reporter, when both were working at The Philadelphia Inquirer, and they married in 1962. Mrs. Gaudiosi returned to the workforce after her children were grown and retired in 2006 from her position in courtroom operations for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Following retirement, she and her husband moved to Houston, TX, where her daughter was then living; she returned to the Philadelphia area with her daughter in 2012.
Mrs. Gaudiosi was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted friend with a bright and generous spirit. The family is grateful that she had recently spent time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral arrangements are private. The family requests donations in lieu of flowers to the Holy Adoration Sisters, 2212 Green Street, Phila., PA 19130 or the Cape May Fund, 5901 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21210, Attn: Treasurer.
