Cecelia J. Hoffman

Cecelia "Cele" J. Hoffman, 80, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of David Hoffman for 59 wonderful years. Born August 19, 1945 in Winsted; the daughter of the late Louis and Antoinette (Adamo) Bascetta.

As a dedicated homemaker, Cele loved babies and children. She and her husband loved being involved in the community, volunteering their time to Helping Hands Food Bank and Hands of Grace in New Hartford and serving with genuine, devoted hearts wherever needed. They also loved their neighbors in Torrington.

She was an avid knitter, loved collecting elephants, horses and snowmen and loved grabbing coffee with her girlfriends socializing. She always hosted the holidays, birthdays and family celebrations. She also loved vacationing in Maine especially to enjoy a lobster dinner.

The family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Hartford Healthcare Hospice, Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County, SVNA Home Assistance and Dr. Scatola and the heart failure team at Hartford Hospital for all their kindness, care and support.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Barbieri-Masi and her husband Louis of Torrington; grandchildren, Nicholas Barbieri-Shoa and wife Lingzhi of Torrington and Deanna Rindom and husband Ryan of Woodbury; siblings, Carmen Bascetta and wife Lucy of Winsted, Lois Bascetta of Winsted, Richard Bascetta and wife Kathleen of FL, William "Bill" Bascetta of AZ and David Bascetta of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Antoinette "Toni" Bascetta.

Friends may call on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 11 AM - 12 PM with a funeral service at noon. Burial will be private at St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
