Cecil Emery Dennison

LINCOLNVILLE..Cecil E. Dennison, Jr., 76, husband of Cynthia
D. Lowell, died on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Sussman House in
Rockport. Born in Rockport on June 13, 1947, he was the son of Cecil E.
and Mary B. (Hawes) Dennison. A member of the Class of 1965 of
Rockport High School, he was very proud of his class. He went on to
NMVTI in Presque Isle, graduating in 1967.
From 1967 t0 1973, Cecil service in the Army National Guard, Company
B in Belfast. On July 18, 1971, he married Cynthia D. Lowell, building a
home in 1978 in Rockport, where they raised their family and Cecil
grew his construction business.
His early employment including working for his Uncle Arlo ______
during the construction of McDonald's in Rockland. He also was
employed by House Doctor, Downeast Builders, Crestwood
Kitchens, before starting C. Dennison Builders & Sons,
specializing in kitchen renovations.
Cecil loved Rockport and Lincolnville, and had served on the
Lincolnville budget committee, a member and chairman of the
Lincolnville Cemetery Trustees, a member of American Legion
Post 30 and was active in the restoration of Lincolnville's Honor
Roll in 2016.
Cecil had a great love of antiquing, postcards, firearms and coins.
He attended countless gun/coin shows and antique shops in
Maine with his friends and family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Hawes and Cecil E
Dennison, his sisters Carol Swafford and Joyce Daniello.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia; and children, Corey E.
Dennison and his wife, Amanda, Chris E Dennison, Craig E.
Dennison; one grandson, Carver E. Dennison; sister, Linda
Greenlaw, husband Walter, nieces Michelle, Lori Witherow and
husband, Jim, nephew, Dennis Daniello.
Cecil had many other family, friends and classmates that meant
the world to him.
Cecil loved to spend time with his grandson, Carver. They worked
in the garden, in his shop and spent many hours talking, playing
games together. Their most favorite thing to do was to shoot off
fireworks.
Private interment will be held later. A celebration of life will be
held at 1pm, Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the American Legion Post
30 on Pearl St in Camden.
