Cecil "Durrell" Ewing, 70, of Lee County Georgia, passed away September 8, 2023. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
Born on December 14, 1952, in Macon, Georgia, to the late James and Juanita Ewing. He moved to Albany in 1975 and after thirty-five years he retired from Proctor and Gamble as a paper making resource technician. Throughout his life, Durrell found joy in lending a helping hand to those around him. Whether it was assisting friends or colleagues with their projects or providing support to loved ones in times of need, he took pleasure in tending to his beloved flowers and plants. He also loved his dog Skeeter.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Sandra Ewing, son Damon Ewing (Shelby) and daughter Misty Truesdale (Zach) all of Lee Co, stepchildren, Katie Beauchamp, Kathie Reissig, and Joe Reissig, grandchildren, Rhys, Alex, Emma, and Eli. He was a beloved brother to Jimmy Ewing, Gail Ewing, Curtis Ewing, Paul Ewing, Pam Odell, Tina Ewing, and Toni Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends following the service.
